The Volunteer Council on Freedmen Affairs is a non-partisan non-profit organization. There is no one set of ideologies associated with The Council; and therefore we highly encourage council volunteers keep strict focus on supporting culture, heritage and Freedmen Descendant entitement. We do not engage in social media conflicts or in any other arenas.

Share tools from our resources to support you on the projects you are volunteering on.
Be a network for you in your activities.
Make it easy for you to sign-up for volunteer opportunities.
Be accommodating and flexible on when you can volunteer.

Be respectful to all other volunteers and staff of VCFA.
Be a good representative of VCFA and the VCFA Mission while volunteering.
Be committed to your volunteerism offerings by attending meetings, briefings and status updates .
As a General Volunteer, we ask you attend the quarterly Council meetings; provide your input/ideas/suggestions; and spread the word about VCFA.
As a Project Volunteer, we ask you attend the project meetings and status updates to be a productive member of the project effort.
Be committed to self-education/knowledge about the issues surrounding Freedmen Affairs and Reparative Justice.
Offer freely resources and skills to benefit The Council as we support Freedmen Descendants.
