The Property Argument

And so the American Freedmen today must deal with the fact that the founding members of the United States used their man-made laws to create constructs that would label the ancestors of Freedmen as “property.” This fact is very important in moving forward with demands for Reparations… especially when navigating colonizer courts. 

Recently, a few orgs have begun replacing the call for American Freedmen Reparations with the terms “Reparative Justice.” The concepts sound very similar. However, it’s not surprising why certain groups are wanting to replace the terminology.
