According to the Pew Research Center , as of 2024, Black U.S. population has a growth rate up 32% since 2022. It is estimated 47.9 million people self-identify as Black in the United States, (self-identification is very important), making them approximately 14.4% of the country’s total population. The growth rate represents an increase of more than 10 million since 2000; with a published median age for Black Americans in the United States at approximately 32-years old.
